Holdfast

Privacy Policy

Last updated 29 July 2026

Holdfast keeps your fasting history on your own device. We do not run servers that store it, we have no accounts to sign into, and we do not collect analytics.

The short version. We do not collect, sell, or share your personal information. There is nothing to opt out of, because there is no tracking to begin with.

What stays on your device

Everything Holdfast records — when each fast started, when it ended, the goal you set, and your settings — is stored locally on your iPhone. It is not transmitted to us. We cannot read it.

Health data

Holdfast is a timer. It does not ask for your weight, your measurements, or any medical information, and it neither reads from nor writes to Apple Health. The fasting stages shown during a fast are fixed descriptions built into the app; they are not personalised and nothing about you is sent anywhere to produce them.

Backups you choose to make

Purchases

Holdfast is free to use. Holdfast Pro is a single one-time purchase, bought through Apple — there is no subscription. We never see your name, address, or payment details, because Apple processes the transaction.

To unlock Pro on your devices and to restore it after a reinstall, we use RevenueCat, a purchase-management service. RevenueCat receives a randomly generated identifier for your installation along with the transaction details Apple provides (which product was bought, and whether it is still active). That identifier is not linked to your name or email, and it is not used for advertising.

Notifications and alarms

Alarms and heads-up alerts are scheduled by iOS on your device. Holdfast sends no push notifications, so nothing about your fasts leaves the phone in order to alert you.

What we do not do

Children

Holdfast is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone.

Your rights

Because your data never leaves your device, you already hold it. You can export everything at any time from Settings, and deleting the app removes the local database. If you used iCloud backup, remove the app's data from your iCloud storage in the Settings app to delete those snapshots.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date above. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
